The Mad Kowz is a Winnipeg street gang. The gang recruits from Aboriginals and Africans. The most notorious member of the gang is Hussein Jilaow, a Somali refugee but deported back to his native country on May 23, 2007, for allegedly assaulting guards while incarcerated numerous times only to be reported dead a few months later. One faction has recently split off from the rest and has called itself the African Mafia.[1]
